what we believe & why
WE BELIEVE THAT …
> The Bible is the infallible Word of God.
It was inspired by the Holy Spirit and given to individuals to write as the revelation of God from God. It is the ultimate truth about God, mankind, life, death and eternity.
(2Timothy 3:15,17; 1Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12)
> There is only one true God.
God has revealed Himself as the infinite, self-existing Father, Son and Holy Spirit, eternal Creator of all things.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; John 8:58)
> Jesus Christ is the only Savior for mankind.
There is only one mediator between God and mankind, and that person is Jesus Christ. His sinless life, atoning death on the Cross, and resurrection from the dead has made the one and only provision for the sins of mankind to be forgiven.
(1Timothy 2:5; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7; Ephesians 2:8-9; 3:4, 7; Romans 3:23-24, 6:23; John 14:6; Galatians 3:26)
> Salvation is a gift from God given to those who personally place their faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as payment for their sins and commit to a life-long relationship with Christ.
To be “saved” means to be forgiven by God and to have committed to a growing relationship of faith and obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus referred to it as being “born again” and it is a new life that is given when the Holy Spirit comes to live within the believer.
(John 3:3-18; Romans 10:9-10; Luke 6:46; John 1:12-13; Romans 5:1)
> The Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.
He is present in the world to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual gifts, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian’s responsibility is to seek and to live under His will daily.

> The gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to each believer in Jesus Christ, allowing for greater intimacy with God and power for accomplishing Christ’s work in our world today.
> The gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to each believer in Jesus Christ, allowing for greater intimacy with God and power for accomplishing Christ’s work in our world today.
We believe that God, the Giver of gifts, gives severally as He wills, and with emphasis on a growing maturity in Jesus Christ. These gifts are revealed and then can be used for His purposes and powerfully influence and affect our world for Christ. They are a continuation of the ministry that Jesus did by the power of the Holy Spirit and they are accomplished in and through the life and ministry dynamic of the church today as Christ promised.
(John 14:12; Acts1:8; 2:4; 1Corinthians 12:4-30; Ephesians 4:11-12; Romans 12:4-8)
(John 14:12; Acts1:8; 2:4; 1Corinthians 12:4-30; Ephesians 4:11-12; Romans 12:4-8)
> The true church is the “body of Christ”, the dwelling place of God by the Holy Spirit.
Each believer who has received Christ as Savior has also received the Holy Spirit’s literal presence into their life and through the miracle of new birth are made a new creation, brought into right relationship with God and with one another. Jesus delegated to the church the task of taking His message to the world.
(2Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 1:19-23; Hebrews 12:22-24; Matthew 28:18-20)
> There is a literal heaven and hell.
- Heaven is the dwelling place of God, His angels and it is the everlasting home of all who have receive Jesus Christ as personal Savior. (Deuteronomy 10:14; Hebrews 4:14; John 14:2-3; Revelation 4:1-11; 5:8-13; 7:9-17)
- Hell is the place and state of the final punishment of Satan, demonic spirits, the wicked, and all who die in their sins without faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. (Matthew 10:28; 18:9; 25:41)
> Jesus Christ is coming again.
Christ promised to return for all who have believed in Him and to receive them into His heavenly home. He also promised to return and set up His literal kingdom reign upon the earth.
(John 14:2-3; 1Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13; 1Corinthians 15:51-57; 2Thessalonians 1:7; Revelation 19:11-16)
